Kevin Colden Still Rules the Night

If you haven't been keeping up with Eisner-nominated Kevin Colden's Zuda comic, "I Rule the Night," here's what you've been missing:

It's a weird companion piece to Morrison's "Batman" run, and as of page 29, I have no idea where it's headed next. But it is good, indeed.

I picked up Colden's Fishtown based on your glowing review, and I very much enjoyed it, so naturally I have also been keeping up with I Rule the Night. I tend to read it in big chunks every now and then instead of continually waiting for every new update because I remember there being some serious delays on it around page 11. How often does it update now?

Sounds great. Quite excited about reading it actually.

I want *not* to be skeptical about Zuda.

It occurs to me that if you like weird companion pieces to Morrison's Batman, and if you haven't already, that you should check out Amy Poodle's Batman 666 scripts.

They're flavoured with Morrison, for sure, but ultimately they're like nothing else I've ever read. Personally I think they're really, really good, and it seems that quite a few of our readers think so too.

Sorry, shameless pimping, but I genuinely think you might have fun.

Kris--I don't know the update schedule, as I've been reading it in chunks as well.

Zom--I have been sampling some of the Batman 666 scripts, but I really actively dislike reading scripts, so I can't bring myself to finish any of them. That is a deep character flaw, I'm afraid.

Completely understandable. It’s a bugger that Amy didn’t stick with the cartooning when he was a teenager. He was rather good, from what I can remember.

Thanks again for this. I’ve been itching for someone I respect to recommend some Zuda product. It just looks like a big pile of homogenous stuff when you don’t have anyone to give you some pointers. Looking forward to having a read tonight.
